Weightloss goals in 2023

Facebook memories was in charge of reminding me how I’ve gained a whopping 26 lbs in a couple of years by presenting me with posts of how I used to look. I immediately sent the pictures to my best childhood friends and they said I should just “stop eating”. As if it was just that simple.

Last night I went out for some chicken soup with a friend who was my mirror when she said she had been drinking a lot of alcohol lately and she was planing to detox for 3 weeks. When she said that I realized I needed to hear that for myself and believe I could do it. I concluded that I need more like a month of not drinking alcohol and that month is January.

Ever since I came back from Italy in November I increased the amount of alcohol and food intake. All of a sudden I stopped caring about my diet and was chasing the thrill of life through food and booze. I went from 152 to my current 164 lbs.

The good news is that I’ve dropped tons of weight in my past and know what I have to do to get down to my baseline which is 140 lbs.

So I started today! The first thing I did was hide the whiskey bottle that was leftover from New Years and put it in a top shelf where I can only reach it with a ladder. I made myself an omlette with nopales (cactus), garlic, olive oil and mushrooms. Then I made a green juice to contribute with the cleansing of parsley, half of a green apple, more cactus, lemon juice and stevia drops to sweeten it up. I added water and mixed it in the blender really well. I heated up one tortilla , took some salsa Fresca out of the fridge and that was my breakfast. Healthy as can be and a perfect breakfast that would help me maintain a 140 lbs figure.

And so I’m on the road to success. And I guess this means enjoying the journey to me, enjoying the “cleansing” of the excess fats and toxins in my body.

As I was journal writing this morning I realized it’s been months since I don’t make a salad at home. And I trully love salads and so my goal is to eat plenty of them in the next 4 months while I’m here in Huatulco, then continue the habit on to NYC.

Other healthy foods I want to make are hummus, babaganoush and tabouleh salad. Which I’ll be getting on in the next few days.

I feel like I’m in for a major detox! I do plan to also make chicken soup with lots of veggies and eat that for days.

I have many pounds to drop but I want it all to be sustainable and realistic to a diet I can stick with and so I’ll just tap into the healthy side of me who enjoys that process.

Also, I must admit I love my body right now but am trying to lose weight for health reasons. I have been working out with a personal trainer for 6 months now and feel the muscle in my body. I feel tight. I feel strong. Just some fat needs to shed so that my joints carry less weight and I’m healthier overall.
